Workshop: Flamenco

Join La Chachi and Lola Dolores for a 1,5 hour workshop exploring flamenco dancing and singing. This workshop will give you a unique insight into the making of their performance ”Taranto Aleatorio” on May 10-11. All levels and backgrounds are welcome!

We immerse ourselves in the flamenco universe to bring out everything we carry inside. In choral formation we will enter the rhythm with tangos, clapping and vocal voice and jaleos… We will dance it from the minimum impulse to its maximum expression. How do we dance flamenco on the floor, and on the wall? To finish we will do a simple and fun choreography where we will reflect everything that has been practiced. Aimed at anyone who enjoys experimenting with movement.

Bring comfortable clothing and flamenco accessories if you can (shawl, fan, skirt, flowers), we will also have some accessories available.

La Chachi has earned her place in the tradition of breaking down and reassessing flamenco, following the path of other outsiders like El Niño de Elche, Israel Galván and Rocío Molina. An actress and dancer, she graduated in both disciplines in Málaga, her hometown. After specialising in flamenco with dancer La Lupi, training in physical theatre, new dramaturgy and contemporary dance, she discovered her true passion: the union of all these disciplines.

Lola Dolores is a singer and actress, born in Puente Genil, Córdoba, but living in Málaga since 1988. Her family passed on to her a passion for flamenco, which is why she began singing and respecting this discipline from a young age. She also trained herself in different musical styles such as soul, pop, R&B, and rock.
